それでも続けること
すぐに結果を求めがちなこの頃ですが，何かをなし遂げるまでには，その途中に大きな中断があったり，気が遠くなるような時間を要することがあります。
自己紹介欄に置いた未来の記憶を巡るお話でいえば，この曲は，未来に向けて時を進んでいる方の自分（と傍にいる誰かさん）の挫折と再生の物語。
鏡のような水面に投げ込んだ気持ちの波紋が広がっていくように始まるピアノバージョン。
その一方で，バンドバージョンのアウトロでは，欠けていたピースが収まったときに快哉を叫ぶかのような“rise”感を表したいと思いました。
光と影が一体であるように，ひとりの人間の中に喜怒哀楽という様々な感情が在るように，それらは境目のないグラデーションで繋がっていそうです。
後悔や哀しみを知っているからこそ，より一層輝く喜びもあるかもしれません。
人は，泣きながら笑うことだってできますし。
“rise”は，幸田真音さんの小説「ランウェイ」（2011年集英社）で，湖面に魚が跳ねる情景として描かれています。二人の登場人物が，そのときの心情に応じて真逆な解釈を口にするシーンはとても印象的です。
